Back up is limited to 7 days, then you should restore as soon as possible.
THE SOLUTION:
1/ Go to “Settings” tab
2/ Click on “General”
3/ Click on “Chat History Backup”
4/ Select “Restore” clicking on the button with the blue arrow
5/ Select the update you would like to restore
6/ Confirm clicking on “OK”
7/ Wait for the action to take place

Can I see the Timeline or Moments of A Contact or Friend on WeChat?
Yes, you can if your friend decided to share, publish or comment something.
THE SOLUTION:
1/ Go to the “Contacts” tab
2/ Select the contact or friend you are interested in and click
3/ On the profile, see if you can find the category called “Album”
a) positive: click on the pictures you can see
b) negative: ask your friend for rights to see in case she/he published something without giving you access. Some people are not using the timeline called Moments
